Premium Quality Fresh BILTONG
Our fresh Biltong is a South African dried and cured meat delicacy. Unlike jerky, biltong is not heat treated. It goes through a natural air-drying process. It’s cured with salt, vinegar, and our own-recipe spices. Various types of meat can be used, although we only use 100% premium quality beef. Our recipes are unique and inspired by our love of good food! Enjoy our lip-smacking choices of Biltong.
Using only the best quality meat & spices, and keeping production at a small scale – We have been able to keep putting love and care into every piece of fresh biltong. Our fresh biltong products are typically made from raw fillets of meat cut into strips following the grain of the muscle, or flat pieces sliced across the grain.
The meat was cured by hanging and salting. This ensured that the benefits of the meat could be enjoyed for weeks and taken on journeys. The curing of meat is not a new thing, it has been around for hundreds of years and there are many different techniques and processes. The crafting of biltong uses only authentic natural spices such as salt, vinegar and herbs.
The beef is gently spiced by hand and slowly dried for quality and flavour. Using traditional spice combinations and techniques enables us to bring the true taste of South Africa to the UK.
As well as traditional recipes we like to experiment with more contemporary flavours such as a large range of chilli varieties, making sure that there is something to fulfil needs of, and satisfy even the most challenging biltong critic!
